Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Thoughts for the Day
Growing in faith doesn't mean you will never experience fear again.
Sometimes you will have a great day of trusting God—and then wake up the next morning struggling with the same fear.
That doesn't mean you've failed.
Facing Fear, Finding Faith makes an important point: moving from fear to faith isn't always a smooth, one-time process. Old fears can return, and sometimes we have to work through them again. What matters is that we keep moving toward faith.
Paul understood this principle.
He didn't say, “I've arrived.”
He said:
“I press on.”
Spiritual growth isn't perfection. It's direction.
Every time fear returns, you have another opportunity to trust God.
Every time you redirect a fearful thought, you're training your faith.
Every time you pray instead of panic, you're growing.
Every time you obey God despite how you feel, you're moving forward.
Consider This . . .
Don't become discouraged because you're still working through something you thought you should have overcome by now.
God isn't finished with you.
Instead of measuring how far you still have to go, consider how far God has already brought you.
Then ask yourself:
“What is my next step of faith?”
It may be small.
Take it anyway.
Faith grows through repeated choices to trust God, follow His Word, and keep moving forward.
Don't quit because fear showed up again.
Press on.
Prayer
Dear God, thank You for continuing to work in my life. When old fears return, help me not become discouraged. Give me strength to keep moving forward and choosing faith one step at a time. Teach me to trust You more deeply as I follow You each day. In Jesus' name . . .
