Scripture
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal."
Thoughts for the Day
Fear doesn’t just show up in your circumstances—it settles into your thoughts.
It begins quietly:
“What if this doesn’t work out?”
“What if things get worse?”
“What if I can’t handle this?”
And before long, those thoughts start to multiply. Your mind races ahead, imagining outcomes that haven’t happened—and may never happen.
That’s how fear works. It pulls you out of the present moment and plants you in a future filled with uncertainty.
But God offers something radically different:
perfect peace.
Not partial peace.
Not occasional peace.
Perfect peace.
And it’s not based on your situation—it’s tied to your focus.
“Whose minds are steadfast…”
A steadfast mind is not a mind that never struggles—it’s a mind that keeps coming back to the same place: trust in God.
Fear tries to scatter your thoughts.
Faith gathers them and anchors them.
God doesn’t promise that life will always feel stable—but He promises that your mind can be, when it is fixed on Him.
Consider This . . .
What has your mind been fixed on lately?
It’s easy to let your thoughts drift toward:
Worst-case scenarios
Past failures
Uncertain outcomes
But whatever your mind rests on will shape what you feel.
If your focus stays on the problem, fear will grow.
If your focus returns to God, peace will begin to take its place.
A steadfast mind isn’t built in one moment—it’s formed through repeated decisions.
Each time fear tries to take over, you have a choice:
Will you follow the thought… or redirect it?
Today, practice bringing your mind back to truth:
God is with you.
God is faithful.
God is your Rock.
Even if you have to do it again and again—that’s how peace is formed.
Prayer
Lord,
You know how quickly my thoughts can spiral. When fear begins to take over, I often find myself focusing on everything that could go wrong instead of remembering who You are.
Today, I ask You to steady my mind. Help me to fix my thoughts on You instead of my fears. When my mind begins to drift, gently bring me back to Your truth.
Teach me to trust You—not just once, but continually. Be my peace, my anchor, and my Rock in every moment.
I choose to focus on You today. Jesus' name . . .
