Fighting Consumerism

On Thanksgiving Day, the race for buying Christmas presents began. Black Friday amplified the season, Small Business Saturday tried to grab their fair share and Cyber Monday took it online.

In addition to the Christmas buying season, there’s another important season: the Year End Giving season. Today is officially Giving Tuesday, but a John Templeton Foundation survey in 2015 discovered that although 93% of the respondents knew about Black Friday while only 18% knew about Giving Tuesday.

Proverbs 11:25 says, “The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered.”

True generosity should be about more than giving presents that are often forgotten days later. Fight consumerism today by matching your employee’s charitable gifts or by making a generous gift to an organization that is changing lives.

Join us in helping change lives, transform workplaces, and impact communities by giving generously to Integrity Resource Center today through our Giving Tuesday campaign.
