Second Chances
By Rick Boxx
July 15, 2011

When Kathy and I were encouraged to try out the “Downtown Diner” in Branson, Missouri, we weren’t sure what to expect. This unique facility is run by a ministry called the Church Army, and is staffed by recovering addicts.

They are giving hope to many by training and hiring them to work in the restaurant business. Most of these people would have a hard time getting a second chance, but fortunately, God is in the business of second chances.

Psalm 107:17,19 teaches, “Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities…Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.”

You and I are God’s agents of hope. Is there anyone you know who needs a second chance?
