Civility Pays

Dr. Porath, a professor at Georgetown University, wrote a Wall Street Journal article with profound research on the impact civility can have on the workplace. In a survey of over 20,000 employees published in Harvard Business Review, Dr. Porath discovered the benefits of treating others with respect.

The study revealed that those who felt their leader demonstrated respect toward them reported 92% greater focus and prioritization, 56% better health and well-being, and 55% more engagement! Other studies mentioned by Dr. Porath revealed that performance decreased dramatically when people are led by someone who belittles or disrespects them.

1 Peter 2:17 teaches, “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.”

If you want a productive and enjoyable workplace remember to show respect to everyone.
