Hands-on Faith for Families – week of September 2, 2019

Theme: Work Together

God Loves Everyone

Scripture: But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Play: Take turns with your kids thinking of an animal that begins with each letter of the alphabet. As you name each creature, also identify if it's “snuggly” or “scary.”

Talk: Some animals seem safe and cuddly. Others seem dangerous, and we are careful not to get too close to them. Our relationships with people are sort of like that. It’s easy to love the people who love us, but loving people who are unkind to us can be scary or difficult. With God, however, it’s different: He loves each of us with all His heart, even when we do things that hurt Him. Romans 5:8 says that God showed us His love by sending His Son to die for us. Since God loves us so much, what could we do to show His love to others?

Pray: Pray that you would love others like God loves you.
