Hands-On Faith – Week of June 15

Discover how Jesus invites you to be His friend, just as He was with His 12 disciples, and learn about the profound love He has for those who follow Him. Through a series of engaging activities and Bible study, this week's Hands-on Faith for Families explores what it means to have a deep and meaningful relationship with Jesus.

Hands-on Faith for Families– week of January 7, 2019

Theme: Receive Gifts from God

Jesus Is Our Friend

Scripture:I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. (John 15:15)

Play:Tape a large sheet of paper to the wall. Write as many words as you can to describe good friends (great, super, fantastic).

Talk:Jesus had 12 disciples who were His friends. You can become a friend of Jesus, too. When you follow and obey Jesus just as His disciples did, Jesus calls you His friend. What kind of friend is Jesus? In John 15:13, Jesus says, “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” That’s what Jesus did for His disciples and for you.

Pray:Name one good friend and tell God something you love about that person. Then thank God for him or her.
