Hands-On Faith for Families – Week of July 8, 2024

Focus on the Family presents a week-long theme of "Be God's Light in the World" to encourage families to share their faith with others, starting with the Great Commission that Jesus gave to His disciples. Through games, talks, and prayers, families can learn how to proclaim boldly the message of love and forgiveness that Jesus has taught them from His Word.

Theme: Be God’s Light in the World

The Great Commission Starts at Home

Scripture: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

Play: Play a game of telephone: Whisper a sentence about Jesus, and let the last person proclaim it loudly. Play the game a few times using different messages and taking turns “proclaiming” the Good News.

Talk: The message of Jesus’ love and forgiveness is the most important message of all. Jesus wants the whole world to know it. In Matthew 28:19, He told His disciples to share the Good News with everyone. That’s called the Great Commission. How can we share God’s message of love and forgiveness with others?

Pray: Ask God to help you proclaim boldly what He has taught you in His Word.
