You Can’t Be Everywhere!

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.  Isaiah 43:19 KJV

You can’t be everywhere.  Especially, when God is trying to help you “see” or perceive the new season in your life.

Today is the first day of fall, and I can see and feel the changes.  The once bright blooms now resemble a mix of crunchy brown hues, and the cool breeze makes you wish you carried a long-sleeve along, just in case.  As I sit in this cozy crowded coffee shop--alone, I have this peaceful cheery feeling on the inside and out.

I feel full!

Mostly because, today I made a good choice, a choice to “trust God,” which is increasingly helping me to trust myself more.

Today, all I did was say, “Yes!”

Yes, to time with God and yes to time with myself.

What did I say no to?

I said no to brunch with my girlfriends.  Nope!  Not an earth shattering no, but it’s a positive and promising step in the right direction.

See, I’m naturally inclined to be a social butterfly.  Therefore, spending time with my girlfriends is normally a definite do, but today, I sensed that choosing to go to brunch and hearing about their latest life happenings would somehow drown out a needed revelation in my own life.

Isaiah 43:19, cautions us to behold or see what’s new.

This isn’t an easy task.

Oftentimes, it can be hard to “see” what’s new or even notice the change in season (Eccl. 3:1).  Especially, when you or I don’t give God the room to be seen or heard, or we don’t know how.  On top of this, there is much in the world around us that works tirelessly to thwart our efforts to behold or see the newway.

Gratefully, despite the distractions, God is active and desires to help us come to know what is for us and what is not for us, and when or whom to say yes to.  So, we don’t have to choose on our own, and we certainly don’t have to be everywhere, only where God would have us to be.

Today, I pray that you come to recognize and embrace the Spirit’s nudge and then trust yourself to go where God would have you to be.

Can you relate?  Are you attempting to be everywhere, yet struggling to see God and what’s new for you?  Ask God to lead you--then go.

God thank You for being real.  I pray You continue to help us to hear You and to see You in our midst.  I pray You give us the discernment to know and embrace the season we’re in, and may we have the courage to thrive and manage our time well.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)
