The Highways to Zion – Beloved Women – November 25, 2021
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Each time we travel to Kansas, there seems to be a section of highway under construction. Whether it’s a new lane or entrance ramp, something is different when we arrive. It’s impressive to see how our hometown has grown. The old and familiar is now surrounded by new developments. Some areas were torn down completely to make way for further expansion. Although the destination on the map has not changed, the city has transformed and so have the surroundings.
The highways to Zion are pathways in our hearts that take us from strength to strength, as we journey higher up and deeper into His truth. Transformation unfolds in our hearts as we cultivate and cherish intimacy with Christ. The highways to Zion are built through our praise, our prayers, through reading the word, and seeking wisdom from those who are further along in their spiritual journey. The roadways in our hearts are not visible to others. The epic journey of our soul begins in the secret place with God, fortifying the path toward heaven. It's tedious and yet joy filled. It’s painstakingly slow and yet it yields an inner beauty that purifies and enriches our hearts for HIs glory.
PRAY: Lord, as I set my heart on You and build those highways to Zion, I give You glory, honor, and praise. Thank You for guiding me onward and closer to You. I pray that my ears would be in tune with the frequency of Your voice. And may I keep my eyes fixed on You every step of the journey. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
REFLECT: Think about the value of transformation. Write down whatever is slowing you down on the path to relational intimacy with God and commit that to Him in prayer.
