Read: 1 Peter 5

Key Verse: “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers-not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve.” - 1 Peter 5:2

Who do you know that is eager to serve? Have you affirmed them lately? Take the time today to let them know you notice and appreciate their attitude. Leaders should have noble motives and not be focused on financial gains for their efforts. If more people were eager to serve like Jesus, families and churches would be very healthy.

Eager to serve includes the following concepts: 1) Serving gladly with a generous spirit and uplifting attitude 2) Content in giving and not counting personal gain 3) Going the extra mile often, even when no one sees 4) Serving before being asked, simply seeing needs and responding 5) Praying throughout the day, relying on God’s strength. Do these five traits describe you? Let Jesus transform and lead you in the area of serving!
