Read: Ezra 7

Key Verse: “For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the Lord, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.” - Ezra 7:10

Ezra developed good spiritual habits. It is important to have some personal discipline in many areas of life: academics, art, athletics, career, and faith. To be devoted means to maintain an activity as a top priority. There will always be many competing activities and voices, but a person who stays close to God must choose wisely. One way to solidify God’s Word in your life is to put what you learn into action. The greatest blessings come when you are faithful, not just knowledgeable!

What have you been learning lately in your walk with God? When you discover and rediscover truth about God, are you sharing it with other people? Encourage someone in your Bible study group, tell your spouse, write an email to a friend, and open up with your friends and family. God teaches you so that you will pass it on to another person. Blessings multiply and lives are changed when we follow Ezra’s pattern in this verse!
