Renewing Your Fellowship With God [Part 6]

September 10

To renew our fellowship with God, we are to turn to Him in confession and repentance. This is not for salvation because we cannot lose our salvation once we are saved. I am talking about restoring our fellowship with God once we have sinned, to get back to where we are walking with Him, talking with Him, enjoying Him, and learning from His Word.

1 John 1:9– If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

To confess means to say the same thing that God says about sin. When we sin after salvation our sin is against God. Every moment we choose to live our own way doing our own thing is another moment we choose to live in willful sin. My friend, God is not angry when we sin, He is grieved inside. He sees it all because He knows it all. He knows that if we would just surrender to Him and walk in fellowship with Him, we would have the wisdom (His wisdom) to stay away from those things He would not want us to have. God in His Omniscience knows what is best for us and we need to listen when He speaks.
