God’s Character – Part 4

October 7, 2013

“Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty,” - Psalm 104:1

God tells us through all the pages of His Book what He is. One of His names is I Am.

I am all that my people need. I am their strength. I am their wisdom. I am their righteousness. I am their peace. I am their salvation. I am their life.  I am their all in all.

But, if our hearts are full of our own “I am’s,” we will surely fall into despair as we try to live out the Christian life in our own resources. When we say “I am such a poor weak person,” or  “I am so helpless,” or  “ I am so foolish,” we are asking others to feel sorry for us and to agree with us that we have it harder than most.

All the while we are ignoring all that we have in Him, Who is the great I Am.
