Lasting Happiness

June 14, 2013

“Therefore I hated life because the work that was done under the sun was distressing to me, for all is vanity and grasping for the wind.” - Ecclesiastes 2:17

Solomon, the wisest man on the earth could not find lasting happiness. He found himself disappointed with wisdom and disappointed with wealth. He realized that he could not keep either one. We too, like Solomon, will find ourselves in despair when we try to find our significance in the things this world has to offer. We must surrender all we are and all we have to God and we must see the importance of receiving God’s gifts and enjoying them in God’s will. As believers, we can be satisfied in this fact alone, “God and what God provides for me is all that I need.”
