The Righteousness Of God

August 6, 2014

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” - 2 Corinthians 5:21

When we place our trust in Jesus and what He died on the cross for us God bestows on us the righteousness of Christ. Our righteousness is based on the merits of another who was sinless and His name is Jesus.  We are not righteous in and of ourselves, it is not by what we do, but because God has placed us in Christ Jesus. This has been accomplished because we have been crucified with Christ; we are no longer dead in our trespasses and sins. We do not deserve this it is pure grace; our standing and acceptance is by grace; it is all the grace of God.

God has adopted us and made us sons and daughters and our sins have been taken away by the shed blood of His Son. We have been clothed with His righteousness.
