Abiding Above Tension [Part 13]

August 31

Philippians 4:6“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;”

Notice this verse says “with thanksgiving.” This is expecting provision and protection in life. He says, “…let your requests be known to God.” You see the evidence of a peaceful heart and a peaceful mind is a praising and thankful life. God is telling us that when we are praying, whatever it is that is making us tense, that when we are praying we are to pray already believing God’s going to answer our prayer. We may not know what it is exactly. He may show it to us immediately or He may show it to us gradually but He is going to answer our prayer and it is going to be good. It may be immediately or it may be later but God cannot make a mistake.  Do you believe that? My friend, it is impossible for God to make a mistake. Why does He take so long to answer our prayers sometime? My friend, it is because you take a long time to finally give up your right to yourself and to just simply give up. You see it is not God taking so long, it is you and it is me.
