A Different Perspective - April 6

Hand and Heart

by Berni Dymet

John 7:38 ...and let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer's heart shall flow rivers of living water.'

Sometimes people ask me - why is my faith so dry? I mean, I believe in Jesus - but somehow, somehow it's not real.

So I ask them.  How much time do you spend with Jesus. I mean, if you love someone, you spend time with them. How much of your life - the priorities, the way you spend your money and your time and your energies - how much of this life that you live, is spent for Him.

Dead Silence.

It's pretty obvious. If we believe one thing with our hearts, and do another thing with our hands, it just doesn't work. We can't say we believe in Him and we expect to have this rich vibrant faith - if we don't live our lives that way.

Is your faith just a bit dry? A bit dusty? I want to encourage you to do something about it. Go to the well and drink - take a deep, satisfying draft of that living water. Spend time with Him. Live Him.

How exactly do you live in the promises of God? Well, that’s what our latest Life Application Booklet is all about: It’s Time to Take the Promised Land.
