⁴ I looked [1] on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.

for there is no one who is concerned for me.
Refuge has fled from me.
No one cares for my soul.

⁴ Looking to my right side, I saw no man who was my friend: I had no safe place; no one had any care for my soul.
