What We Believe

The Scriptures

The Bible, as originally written, is the infallible, divinely-inspired Word of God. The Bible contains the answers to Man’s deepest needs.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)

“And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.” (1 Thessalonians 2:13)

The Trinity

God is one, but is manifested in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

“Jesus replied, ‘If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.’” (John 14:23-26)

Christ Jesus, “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped.” (Philippians 2:6)

Sin and the Fall of Man

Mankind was created in the image and likeness of God. However, through the Fall of Adam, sin entered the world; and through sin came death, because all have sinned. That death results in eternal separation from God in Hell.

“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness….’” (Genesis 1:26)

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.” (Romans 5:12)

“As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one.’” (Romans 3:10)

“If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15)

“God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power.” (2 Thessalonians 1:6-9)

Salvation and Eternal Life

God sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to the world to die and pay the penalty for our sins. Whoever repents of their sins and believes in Jesus as Savior and Lord has eternal life with God in Heaven. Jesus is the only way to God. Salvation is entirely by grace — a gift from God.

“Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:27,28)

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6)

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. …” (1 Peter 3:18)

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out…” (Acts 3:19)

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” (John 3:36)

“That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” (2 Corinthians 7:10)

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” (1 John 4:9)

“He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:12)

“For, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” (Romans 10:13)
