15:6
In the house of the righteous [is] much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is
a
trouble.
(

) For though they have much yet it is full of trouble and care.
15:8
The

sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright [is] his delight.
(

) That thing is abominable before God, which the wicked think to be most excellent, and by which they think most to be accepted.
15:10
Correction [is] grievous to him that
c
forsaketh the way: [and] he that hateth reproof shall die.
(

) He who swears from the word of God, cannot stand to be admonished.
15:11
d
Hell and destruction [are] before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

) There is nothing so deep or secret that can be hid from the eyes of God, much less man's thoughts.
15:19
The way of the slothful [man is] as an hedge of

thorns: but the way of the righteous [is] made plain.
(

) That is, he always finds some hinderance or stay, and dares not go forward.
15:22
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but

in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word [spoken]

in due season, how good [it is]!

) If we will that our talk be comfortable, we must wait for time and season.

The thoughts of the wicked [are] an abomination to the LORD: but [the words] of the pure [are]

pleasant words.

) That is, wholesome and profitable to the hearers.
15:31
The ear that heareth the

reproof of life abideth among the wise.
(

) That suffers himself to be admonished by God's word, which brings life: and so amends.
15:33
The fear of the LORD [is] the instruction of wisdom; and before honour [is]

humility.
(

) Meaning, that God exalts no one but them that are truly humbled.
