Country Stars Sing Touching Tribute to Alan Jackson at CMA Awards

Published Jul 20, 2023

It is always sweet to witness a time of honoring the life someone has lived. In this video, country stars sing a touching tribute to Alan Jackson at CMA Awards.

At the start of this beautiful video, Carrie Underwood comes out on stage singing, “Remember When,” as the audience is silenced in this precious moment. She then shares that they are honoring Alan Jackson with the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.

Carrie gets emotional as she shares that the first concert she ever went to was an Alan Jackson concert and how that motivated her to pursue her dreams. She shares that some of his friends are there to honor him.

Suddenly on another stage Dierks Bentley with a vibrant group singing, “Chattahoochee.” The audience sings along. Then Jon Pardi starts singing “Drive (for Daddy Gene),” and Lainey Wilson begins singing “Chasing the Neon Rainbow.” Pictures of Alan in various stages of life appear on the slideshow behind them.

Then, Alan himself shows up on the stage singing with his guitar. He sings, “Don’t Rock the Jukebox.” His voice sounds powerful as ever. All of the artists who sang tribute to him appeared next to him on the stage to present his award.

He shares his story and thanks everyone. He says that country is real American music to him. He says that he came to Nashville with three cords and a prayer. Alan says that he has been very blessed with a great team and writers. He gives special thanks to his wife.

Watching a man get a lifetime achievement award is a wonderful experience; however, it also reminds us that all that we accomplish on this earth is to be laid down at Jesus’ feet in heaven. He ultimately deserves all the glory.

“The twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “Worthy are you, our Lord and God,  to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created” (Revelation 4:10-11),
