Read: 2 Timothy 2

Key Verse: “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” - 2 Timothy 2:2

There are four spiritual generations of people represented in this one verse. Paul has invested his life into Timothy who is to find reliable people and do the same. The reliable ones will then find others and continue this lineage of discipleship. Although not mentioned, it is implied that more generations will then be reached, and this chain of impact will not be broken. Have you been a part of spiritually reproducing relationships like the one Paul started with Timothy?

What does your spiritual tree look like? Who led you to Jesus? Who have you found to pour your life into? Have those people led many others to Jesus? Discipleship is intentional, relational, wise, and how the world is changed. God has given you so much, and now you can entrust what you have learned into the lives of teachable people who want to become faithful to God. This sequence started with Jesus and the apostles; it is the model of how we are to live. Before He left earth ((Matthew 28:18-20), Jesus told us: Go and make disciples!
