Birth of C. T. (Charles Thomas) Studd, in England. During his college days, he was a famous All-England Cricketer. From a wealthy family, upon his conversion (under the ministry of D. L. Moody), he gave away his fortune, and in 1885 sailed for China, where he lived in native Chinese fashion. In 1900 he went to India, where, in 1906, his health broke. Contrary to medical advice, in 1910 he sailed for Africa, and there he labored until his passing.
