Thomas A. Lambie (1885 to 1954)
He Opened a 90-Bed Tuberculosis Sanatorium

Dr. Thomas A. Lambie was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While a medical student at the University of Pittsburgh, he heard and answered God's call to foreign missionary service. He arrived in Alexandria, Egypt at age 23, and spent the remainder of his life in the Middle East. After serving in desolate locations in Egypt for a number of years, places without a trace of civilization, he opened a 90-bed tuberculosis sanatorium in Palestine. On Wednesday, April 14, 1954, at five in the afternoon, he was in the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem, with his wife and others, making plans for the Easter Sunrise Service the next Lord's Day, when he was called Home!
