You Gotta Trust God's Word: Proverbs 8

today’s reading is proverbs chapter 8

This is one of those passages in the Bible that I love to read slowly and over and over again. I feel like I get a small taste of how amazing God is when I read it. I also feel an enormous sense of gratitude in knowing that He wants me to have the same wisdom that has been by His side since the beginning of time. He willingly gives it; it’s up to us to receive it…and we get it by trusting in His Word.

I could go a thousand different directions here, but I want to focus on placing faith in the scriptures. Here’s the thing. We have got to trust in the Bible 100%. I’m not saying that there aren’t going to be things that we come across that we don’t fully understand. Heck, some things may even appear contradictory. But we shouldn’t let that be a reason for not being able to fully rely on it as God’s Word.

I can tell you, in my own personal experience, that there are things that I didn’t even begin understand until I’d been a Christian for years. It seems I find something new in the Bible every time I read it. Ever hear someone talk about how God’s Word is “alive?” That’s what they mean. God Himself literally speaks to us when we sit down and study this thing.

So place your trust in these proverbs as we read them each day. Are you having trouble with something you’ve read? Think I’m interpreting something wrong? That’s why I’m doing this blog!  Let’s talk it out! Maybe you are seeing something that I’m not. Maybe God has laid something on your heart that you want to share just because you think it’s interesting. That’s great too!

Looking forward to your comments.
