We all know that life isn’t fair. Sometimes the cards we are dealt don’t result in a winning hand. Does that mean that God isn’t “good?”
Proverbs tells us that God is “just.” This means that, when we see leaders who have double standards or measure with dishonest scales, we can’t blame God for or compare God to that. As a matter of fact, we can’t compare “godly justice” to anyone we know because we are all, at some point, going to follow our own selfish desires instead of do what’s right (of course, that’s where grace and forgiveness come into play in the life of a Christian). And that’s exactly why we should choose to rely on God instead of people to meet our needs.
After all, He did create every small detail that exists in our being. He does know us better than we know ourselves. He is here, right now, controlling the air you are breathing and the things going on around you right now as you read this post…our wonderfully just God.
Sometimes when I’m feeling tested, I wonder if God is trying to get my attention. At least that’s how I’ve been taught to rationalize it in my mind. But maybe, in reality, God’s justice is being served in our earth causing things to shift, simply resulting in things not going my way this time around. Maybe I just need to think just a little less of myself and a lot more of God? After all, there are 7 billion other people in the world. Imagine how much infinitely smaller my perspective is than God’s when He has so many people to care for… and I feel like I know SO much sometimes.
God’s justice should be something that we are constantly in awe of. After all, can you imagine the chaos we’d experience without it?
