Am I the only one who reads some of these proverbs about selfish people who mistreat others and my mind automatically shifts to Facebook? I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I work for a Christian website company and have a birds eye view? Or perhaps it’s because I’ve known myself to be guilty of saying some things that I normally wouldn’t be bold enough to say in real-life conversations.
Regardless, isn’t it fascinating how much social media has changed the way we communicate with one another? These instructions we read in Proverbs 18 this morning can be even more difficult to follow in 2013. My prayer today is that we will be friendly, understanding, patient people in a world where quarreling and condescending comments are encouraged.
