Lamentations 3:21-26

This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I have hope in Him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him. It is good that he waits silently for the salvation of the Lord.

If you put God first in your life, you will be content!

“The Lord is my portion”is another way of saying, “The Lord is enough for me.” These were not just words coming from Jeremiah’s mouth; they were the deep expression of his soul’s satisfaction with God.

Don’t allow your walk with God to become simply an issue of commitment to the Christian way of life. Rather, find your joy and hope in God! Look how Jeremiah speaks about God; he talks about God’s lovingkindness and compassion and faithfulness and goodness. Jeremiah had learned to relate to God on the personal level. He had learned to love God and experience God’s love for Him.

He had learned to “wait for” God and “seek” Him. God is reminding you today to find joy and contentment in your relationship with Him by taking time to get to know Him and allowing Him to lead your life. Make this Scripture passage your prayer today!
