For Love’s Sake
“‘The Lord bless him!’ Naomi said to her daughter-in-law. ‘He has not stopped showing his kindness to the living and the dead.’ She added, ‘That man is our close relative; he is one of our guardian-redeemers.’” Ruth 2:20
Ruth had a history of thinking only of others, particularly Naomi. From the time they made the move from Moab, Ruth was only concerned with Naomi’s well-being. She sought to take care of Naomi, and she did it without concern for herself and without ulterior motives. She simply loved to love. Now, Ruth is experiencing the return of that love from Boaz.
When we live a life that exudes love, the reality is that we often experience the love of others. That love can sometimes come from unexpected sources. Our willingness to display love in our own lives opens our lives to the possibility to be loved. Are you displaying a love that is selfless? Do you love without ulterior motives? God wants us to live a life of love…for love’s sake.
Thank God for giving you the capacity to love. Pray for His supernatural love to be displayed in your life so that others can see what a life of love is truly about.
The greatest displays off love are those that don’t have ulterior motives. Think of one way you could show love to someone in your life today. Show them your love, and do it without expecting anything in return. You’ll be surprised what comes back to you!
