Raise the Roof
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Mark 2:5
Faith can heal; but faith needs to be combined with effort. “Forget it,” the paralyzed man could’ve said in the book of Mark. “Too much work.” His only chance at healing was getting to Jesus, but a dense crowd blocked him. He could have told his friends who carried him to just turn back. But desperate times call for desperate measures. Pointing toward the roof, maybe he demanded, “C’mon guys, get me up there!” They ripped a hole in the roof so the paralytic could be lowered down to Jesus. Jesus called their action faith, faith in action, and a paralytic was healed! It’s easy to get discouraged today, but God is looking for those with guts and gumption to find answers in Him! Getting lost in the crowd, going with the flow (only dead fish do that), won’t cut it.
