Others Focus

Today's reading: 1 Corinthians 10:23-33

Once again Paul addresses our freedom in Christ followed by the reminder that because we are followers of Christ there will be times when we need to relinquish our rights to exercise that freedom in order to avoid turning someone away from a relationship with Christ or causing a fellow believer to stumble or falter. Verses 32-33 deliver the message well.

"Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved."

Putting the interests of others first isn't typically our first response. So what helps you to be mindful of accommodating others as a follower of Christ (i.e. not seeking your own advantage)? How do you maintain the mindset of doing all to the glory of God? Tami
