October 5, 2015

Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk jailed due to refusing to sign same-sex marriage licenses, has put a spotlight on civil disobedience. Many have debated whether or not they believe Kim did the right thing, but I’m more concerned with what God thinks.

The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 13:1, “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”

God desires you and I to maintain our integrity by obeying the laws of the land, however, there are exceptions noted throughout scripture. Join me this week as we discuss some of those exceptions.
