A Prideful CEO

A CEO of a publicly traded company was hosting a gathering for his regional franchisees. At the end of his talk he asked for questions.

A friend of mine asked him if he had considered modifying one of his key marketing strategies, because it had become costly to many of the franchisees. He was shocked when the CEO shouted, “I don’t have to put up with people like you who dare to question my judgment. This meeting is over!”

With that the CEO stormed out the door! According to my friend, many in that room witnessed and lost respect for a prideful leader.

Proverbs 11:2 teaches, “When pride comes, then comes dishonor, But with the humble is wisdom.”

If you desire respect and honor in your workplace, guard your heart against pride.
