Noble - Every Man Ministries - March 2


Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things - Philippians 4:8

The turning point in a man’s life is when he nobly accepts suffering for something greater than himself. There is much in a word. has many references to the word Noble, one of which is, “of an exalted moral or mental character or excellence:” Can you think of someone that would fit that term?

Many people come to my mind. George Washington, the men who served under him at Valley Forge, every person  who laid down their life for others, firemen, policemen, military, and  then above all, last but certainly not least, God himself comes to my mind.

By contrast an unwillingness to suffer catastrophically stops a man’s growth and precipitates regression. Good men don’t have to suffer to keep their status in the world’s eye, “Don’t rock the boat,” just provide for your family and secure a great legacy,” But for God’s man moving from good to great means embracing a turning hour in your spiritual journey, where belief in Christ turns into a willingness to pay the price for that relationship and its purposes in your life. In its most basic sense, comfort and Christ likeness do not blend. God promises a blessed life, He is comfort in our suffering. This is earth not heaven guys, Sunday’s comin’!

Father, help me tap your nobility. You have provided it, now help me appropriate it.
