Where Do You Need to Go? - Ed Young Television Devotional - 3/23

Where do you need to go?

"Good leadership is a channel of water controlled by God; he directs it to whatever ends he chooses." Proverbs 21:1

"Leaders take people where they need to go, not where they want to go."

That's a truth that too often gets lost in our world today. Too many people think that leadership is all about getting people where they want to go. But true leadership - the kind of leadership that reflects God - will help people get to the places they need to go where they can grow into the people God wants them to be.

God knows what is best for all of us. He has a perfect plan and design for our lives. And He wants us to experience that path. But it takes strong leadership. Have you submitted to God's leadership? Are you allowing Him to guide and direct you where you need to go, and not just where you want to go?

Ask God for the kind of discipline and discernment it takes to submit to His leadership. Pray for the wisdom to see the difference between where you need to go and where you want to go.

Look back at your life. Write down any time you can see where God took you somewhere you needed to go, but didn't necessarily want to go. Use those times as reminders to help you in the future as God continues to guide your path.
