You Be You

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.” Matthew 6:2

THINK

To be a hypocrite is to say one thing and to do another. It’s something we can all relate to, because we’ve all done it. But it’s also something we were never intended to do.

God has created us to be uniquely us, to be authentic. When we are hypocritical, we are acting in a manner that is opposite of who we were designed to be.

When our actions match our words; when our behaviors match our beliefs, we find ourselves in a position to be influential on the world around us in a way that honors God. It’s when we are true that we realize the world is not about us; it’s about God. It is by living a life of true character that we honor God, who created us to be uniquely us.

PRAY

Pray that God gives you the strength and discipline to be authentic. Pray for your actions and your behaviors to honor Him, as you reveal to the world the “you” He created you to be.

ACT

The greatest way to live an authentic life is to surround yourself with others who are doing just that.
