Ed Young Television Devotional

Who you follow is who you follow.

“But Ruth replied, ‘Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.’” Ruth 1:16

THINK

Leadership is all about influence. No matter where we are in life, we all have an opportunity to influence other people; we have a chance to be a godly example. And people are watching. Because of the example that Naomi set in Ruth’s life, Ruth made a decision that swam against the current of her culture. She made the decision to move back to Bethlehem.

Right now, there are people in your life who are causing you to go in one direction or the other. The question we all have to ask ourselves is, which direction are we going? And is it the direction God wants you to go? Make sure you are following the people in your life who are taking you where God wants you to go, even if it swims against the current of culture. Because who you follow is who you will follow!

PRAY

Ask God to surround you with the kind of people. Pray for the courage to make the tough decisions to move to the right places.

ACT

Make sure you are surrounded with the right people in life so you can discover the right direction to go! Make involvement in the church (not just attendance) a priority.
