The Gift of Music

“Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!” – Psalm 147:1

THINK
We have been discussing the amazing gift of music that comes from God. It is a gift that sooths and comforts us. It is a gift that helps us to remember His love and sacrifice for us. It is a gift that can help us draw closer to God and strengthen our relationship with Him. It is also a gift that is underutilized and overlooked too many times.

Each year resolutions are made to improve our lives in some way. Let’s determine to resolve to utilize God’s gifts to us that we have, perhaps, been overlooking. Incorporating music into our lives will be a great start to this process. Begin by simply singing to Him the worship song that comes to mind. Pay attention to the words and remember who He is, what He has done and who His word says we are. Remember that when we praise God our lives will be filled with wonder and awe from the new song He will bring to our lives again and again.

PRAY
Thank God for His gift of music. Ask Him to help you utilize that gift to strengthen your relationship with Him. Ask Him to help you recognize the song He brings to your life so that you don’t overlook it.

ACT
Live out Psalm 147:1. Fill your car, your office, your home…your space with music that praises Him. And don’t just listen to it; sing along with it so your voice will be praising Him along with others!
