NOT TIMID

Read: 2 Timothy 1

Key Verse: “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” - 2 Timothy 1:7

How often are you timid? Does it surprise you to learn that timidity is not coming from God? How do most people try to rationalize it? To be timid is to be stuck hesitating when God wants you to do something. It is to miss an opportunity. It is to be silent when God wants you to speak. It is to doubt God, His plan, and His power. God wants to transform you and give you courage.

Overcoming timidity will include taking your eyes off your inadequacies and looking to the Lord. It will include asking God to fill you with the Holy Spirit. It will include caring less about what people think about you. It will include trusting God and embracing faithfulness as the most important result. Moving past timidity enables you to experience more of God’s love and power in your life during the day. May you be as bold as a lion and set free in Jesus’ mighty name!
