Leaving Your First Love-Part 7

November 24

Revelations 2:5– “Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.”

Jesus commands correction. In other words, when you find yourself in this situation He commands us to correct it. Stop and reflect on what it was like when you were walking with God and when Bible reading was not a chore and when you found yourself talking with God almost without thinking. He tells us to stop and to remember back in those days. Remember the way you were and where it all went wrong and repent. This means assuming responsibility for your wrongdoing.

My friend, if you have lost your first love, if you have lost the joy of your salvations you must deal with this alone with God. You are not responsible for anyone else; we are all responsible for ourselves.
