I Am A Church Member-A Gift Of Love To Be Treasured-Part 2
May 22, 2015
Ephesians 2:1-2– “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,”
What does it mean to be a member of the church? It is not the form that you signed and it is not being entered in the church directory. My friend, church membership is a gift. The reason that church membership is to be seen as gift is because you were once a child of Satan and now you are a child of God. You and I, when we were saved, we were placed in the body of Christ as His child. We were once dead, but when we became a child of God, we are no longer in Satan’s kingdom, we are now in God’s kingdom, we are no longer in Adam we are in Christ. You and I were once dead in our trespasses and sins and we once walked according to the course of this world. My friend, if you are not a child of God, according to the Word of God, you are a child of Satan.
Ephesians 2:4-5“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).”
My friend, God is merciful and God has made us alive together with Christ and it is by His grace that we have been saved. The reason we should treasure church membership is because we are in the body of Christ.
