America And The Bible-Part 10

July 26, 2016

The first President of the United States was George Washington. History tells us how he would always have regular times of prayer. Do you have a regular time of Bible reading and prayer? A time of not being hurried, a time of settling yourself down and listening to God through His Word and by His Spirit?

The story goes that one-day a farmer came upon someone in the woods who was in earnest prayer and that person was George Washington, on his knees in earnest prayer with tears running down his face. Listen, when things seem impossible…pray. Things today seem impossible but listen, let’s pray, let’s read God’s Word and let’s say yes to Him and let’s see what we can do with what we have left? Amen! We must do this not only for America but also for the local church. We are a nation and a people who need healing.
