Your Safety Net In the Leap of Faith

March 8

“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

>John 10:28

I remember years ago when I was pastoring a church in West Palm Beach, Florida. A film crew asked to use our church building to film a movie starring Burt Reynolds. So I thought I’d go down to the church and see what was going on.

Now, I didn’t get to meet Burt Reynolds himself, but I did get to talk with his stunt man, who was actually known at that time as one of the world’s greatest. He seemingly had no fear… jumping off buildings, out of airplanes, and so forth.

So I asked him, “How do you get up the courage to do what you do?” And he told me something I’ll never forget. He said, “I’ll jump from any height as long as I have a good catcher beneath.”

As Christians, we can learn a lot from that statement. You see, Jesus is our catcher, the one who has promised He’ll never let us go. And because of that, we can be sure His calling is never too dangerous to follow. He’ll always catch us when we trust in Him.

No challenge is too great as long as you’re in the center of God’s will. Take a leap of faith and trust He’ll catch you when you jump!

TAKE A LEAP OF FAITH IN OBEDIENCE TO GOD KNOWING HE’LL CATCH YOU EVERY TIME.
