Unstoppable Swimming
By Rick Boxx
May 26, 2011

In past years, my son, Jeremy, would start strong at the Special Olympics swimming meet, but part way through the race he would become distracted and stop. This year I coached Jeremy on swimming until he finished. He did it!

Although he ended in 5th place, I found myself beaming with pride. The fact that he didn’t win, was unimportant. I love Jeremy regardless of his performance.

Ephesians 2:4-5 teaches, “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved.”

Some driven leaders act as if God’s love is conditional on their performance. God loves you dearly, regardless of your level of success.
