God Wins
By Rick Boxx

Thomas McKean, a Declaration of Independence signer and Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice, sentenced John Roberts to death for treason, then pleaded with him in the court room to get right with God.  He made a passionate altar call while ruling as a judge.

Imagine if that happened today. Even though a compassionate Christian should desire eternal peace for all, our current political system would likely reject such a judge.

In Acts 4:19 Peter and John were commanded by the authorities to no longer proclaim Jesus as Lord. They replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God.”

As Christians in the marketplace, we often struggle with obeying the authorities and obeying God. When push comes to shove, however, God should win.
