Day 142
WEEPING PROPHET
Oh, that my head were a spring of water
and my eyes a fountain of tears!
I would weep day and night for the slain of my people.
JEREMIAH 9:1
FROM THE FATHER'S HEART
My child, today mothers or fathers might reject their children, but I will never reject you. It gives Me no pleasure to see you suffer because of stubborn self-will. I weep over My children - tears of sadness when they turn away, and cries of joy when they return. I once wept for you with My life. I was bruised and crushed for your rebellion. I was like the weeping prophet. But when you - and all my children - return to Me, there will be a time of great celebration. I never cease to love you.
A GRATEFUL RESPONSE
The prophet Jeremiah was a picture of You, Lord. You were the "weeping prophet," crying over the rebellion of Your people. And even today, how Your heart must grieve over our sin. Yet, You promised restoration when we return to You. What a relief to know You won't reject us!
SIMPLE TRUTH
There's no place like God's home.
