Read: Psalm 149

Key Verse: “For the Lord takes delight in His people; He crowns the humble with salvation.” - Psalm 149:4

How do you think God feels about you? What words would you use to describe how He views you and what is in His heart concerning you? Your answer to these questions is very telling about your relationship with God. What if God values you and takes great delight in you? Would you be willing to receive that good news?

Many people try to deny God’s affection and attempt to change faith into a performance contest. There is one thing that does block God’s favor: it is called pride. Pride tries to make you self-sufficient and refuses to accept the truth about God. The same humility that was involved in receiving the undeserved gift of salvation through Jesus is equally involved in knowing that God takes great joy in you. An image of a God who is never happy with His people is a false image of God. He loved you before you ever had a single accomplishment in life.
