OLD MOVIES

Read: Psalm 25

Key Verse: “Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to Your love remember me, for You are good, O Lord” - Psalm 25:7

Do you ever spend time remembering your past sins? How does that make you feel? David turns to the Lord and asks for God’s mercy. Your past sins do not need to ever be played in the movie theater of your mind. It will only lead to guilt, shame, regret, and hopelessness. The devil is an accuser of the children of God; it is not your role.

The goodness of the Lord is the new movie. Gratitude, forgiveness, and peace are the fruits of a mind that is centered on God. When you are tempted to replay past failures, choose to let go of the old DVD’s and throw them in the trash. God has plans for you that glorify Him and help many people. You do not need the weight of past sins that have been confessed. God is giving you a new start!
