The Privileges of Dwelling in Zion

871 He has founded his city on the holy mountain. 2 The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the other dwellings of Jacob. 3 Glorious things are said of you, city of God:[1]

4 "I will record Rahab[2] and Babylon among those who acknowledge me- Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush[3] - and will say, 'This one was born in Zion.' "[4] 5 Indeed, of Zion it will be said, "This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her." 6 The Lord will write in the register of the peoples: "This one was born in Zion." 7 As they make music they will sing, "All my fountains are in you."

A Morning Prayer of Trust in God

31 [5]Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! 2 Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him."[6] 3 But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

4 I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. 6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. 7 Arise, Lord! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. 8 From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
